My favorite story is Sundiata. I like it because it comes from the Mandingo people of western Africa. Also because is a story about extraodinary deeds that has been passed on from one generation to the next. The problem is that he takes a long journey to try to become the leader of his people, Sundiata as well as his family members and enemies all possess supernatural powers, and after all he has gone through he ends up being the leader. It relates to story because it includes many detailed battle scenes. Two detailes I like are, many battles, and the fact that is a legend story. I suggest that others students read this story because is a long but interesting story about war.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book from unit 6 is "Ilid". it was my favorite story becouse it tells us about the histoy of the greek and roman. It interesting ti see how the gods would pick who would win the fight but the thing that was more interesting was the bravory of the soilders. Even if their familly told them not to go and tell them a lot of sweet thing to stop them and they would still go to fight so they could be rememberd for their bravory..
ReplyDeleteThe story that is my favorite in the unit 6 is the "Iliad". The reason why i like the story is because its very interesting about powers of the gods they give to the two warriors name achilles and hector. But the problem was that the Greekes forces they were facing. They were facing the deadly plague that has swept through Achilles army. Than he discuss with his army about the crisis that was gong on and the meeting lead to to the great war that lasted nearly ten years. than the climax were the more action starts when in the middle of the war a strong warrior named Hector camed to finish the war. Than the resolution is when one of the strong warrior died which is Achilles. But my two favorite detail about this story is about when they were facing eachother in different teams and by they were two getting help by their gods while in the war. i suggest other students read this story because it's a very good story and it does with the Asects Of War.
ReplyDeleteThe story that i picked out of unit 6 is the "Iliad". The reason that i liked this story more then the rest is because, not only they have one great warrior, but they have two. Hector prince of troy, and Achillies warrior of the spratans, both great fighters, and both fight for a reason. So you get to see such an epic battle between to great warriors, thats what made like this story more then the others. When Hector and Achillies battle, thats when the story hits climax, good fight the best each had every foughten, but Achillies comes out vitories. In the end troy is destroyed, the spratans tricked them with the trojan horse, which in the act Achillies dieds aswell. This story is a ascept of war because, its a war going on, and theres two warriors fight for each others reasons. One fights for glory, the other fights for his counrty and the people he love. Within this battle for what they stand for, theres hate for one and other, and no matter what they well finish for whatever cost.
ReplyDeletei realy dont have a favorite books/story they are all realy the same to me. mabey the story about the horn and the king not using it because of his pride.i liked how the horn looked it was very well creafted
ReplyDeletemy favorite story was.i like it because the powers the gods had.i also like the roll that achilles played.
ReplyDeleteThe story I have choosen in unit 6 was "Sundiata".
ReplyDeleteThis was my fovorite because it had to do alot with hope and faith. It teaches a good moral, as never to give on yourself as well as beliving on yourself.
The story was about a little boy who in the beginning was unable to walk, how he's mother was insulted for his incaplability. Making Sundiata strong, to beliving that he was capable of walking. Later on making him one of the most influential boy to others in his hometown.
Later on growing up and becoming a powerful leader, who in 1235, defeated the sosso nation of western Africa and reestablihed the Mandingo Empire of Old Mali.
Understanding the moral it gives us, as well as being a great story "Sundiata" is the story I chose.
My favorite story in unit 6 english 2 b was the story the illiad because their where gods and because they talked about battles and about how about hector losses the battle and about the storm cloud how it was cold
ReplyDeleteMy favorite story in ENGISH 2B is THE ILIAD because it tells us aboaut the history of the ancient greek. What i also like about this story is that everybody wants Achillis because he is the powerest man in the battle.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book in English 2b unit6 was Book of Roland. I liked it because it was interesting how Charles didn't help his step son once he heard the horn. The problem was when Roland needed help he didn't act immediately and blow the horn. His pride didn't let him. He thought he would be ashame to the French army if he asked for help since he was a mighty warrior. The climax was when he prayed to God and asked for forgiveness and mercy on him. The two angels took his soul with them to heaven. It compares to war it was a terrible experience but he could have got help he was to proud when he did , It was too late. I liked the part where Oliver told Roland off and told him why he was angry at him and how Galenon Convinced King Charles not to go. I would recommend this story it was very exciting and a tradgic story. It can help you know more experiences about the war.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite story was Sundiata. It's my favorite for many reason's, some being because it's a legend. Another because Sundiata is a hero, and also because some part's of this story are really true. A story about extraordinary deeds that have been passed on from one generation to the next. The story's hero really existed. It's a story of Sundiata that's based on to some extent on fact, but it is fact that has become greatly embellished over time. The hero Sundiata, like other epic heroes, has an unusual childhood and shows signs of greatness even in these early years. As he grows up, he endures many trials. He undertakes a long journey into the exile and back before emerging as a leader of his people. One part is when Sundiata brings his mother the tree, and everyone is in awe. She is so proud. Another part is when Sundiata orders the destruction of Sosso. There are many reason's as to why I chose this story, but that's my overall response.
ReplyDeletemy favorite book i liked was sundiata.I liked it because it came from the western african. Also because it was a good legend. The problem was that that it would take him a long way to become a leader.According to his problem that one day he would walk. the people around sundiata had alot of powers. One thing i liked was that sundiata never gave up he had to achieve his goal and he did..
ReplyDeleteMy favorite story was Sundiata. I liked it mostly because in th beginning, how he starts to walk because his mother was humiliated by Sassouma and then how he says he will bring the whole boab tree and he does to cheer his mother up.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Alexis C, I belived that sundiata was on of the best story's from unit 6.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Alexis because alot of people did doubt Sundiatas ability, they would never know the strenght he had to make himself a leader. A person that was strong and everybody wanted to follow. Making him a great leader in the Western African times.
alexis: I think you need to at lease write the books name and add more into it
ReplyDeleteMark Mendoza: I thought your paragraph about Iliad was very interesting and had very good supporting details. I also liked the story but I like Song Of Roland more. Your paragraph was very excellent. Explain what you liked about it. Keep up the good work Mark!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Margarita, she makes alot of sense about the story.Including many key details.Like how he blew the horn even though his pride was holding him back for a while. And many other main points.
ReplyDeletedon't have a favorite story. they all are uninteresting to me. but one story stood out to me was the one about the king and the horn and stuff. wwhen the guy didn't blow the horn until the battle was already lost. his pride got in the way and that is a little bit similar to me. i can relate. even though it was all boring to me.

My favorite story was Sundiata. I liked it mostly because in th beginning, how he starts to walk because his mother was humiliated by Sassouma and then how he says he will bring the whole boab tree and he does to cheer his mother up. To me the problem is when Sundiata Mother has to beg Sassouma for boab leaves and the climax is when she gets humiliated by her and the solution is when he picks the iron bar and starts to walk and then brings the whole boab tree to his mother. I liked how no one believed he will become a great warrior because he was seven and couldn't walk and later becomes one of the greatest warriors ever. I recommend it because its great story about a hero in 1235 who defeated Sosso.
ReplyDeletemy favorite story was The Iliad.I like it because it talk about what happend way back eith the greeks and the roman.the problem was that the greek had more power then the romans.the resolution was that achillies or hector where sopossed to die.the theme aspects of war relates to it by them fighting for the country.well i think the my favorite part of the story was when achillies was chasing hector around the hole city and when hector told achililes that if who ever dies to return the body to their people and hector said no you have cost to much damege to my people.yes because i think that the storys from the passed have a meaning and its intresting to learn about way back
